Our story began in 1980. Feeling the Lord's calling to start his own ministry, Pastors Moises Sosa Sr. and Manuela Sosa founded Templo La Antorcha. Services began at their son Miguel's house in October 1980, and later moved to its current location at 628 S. 75th St., Houston, TX., 77023. In March 1985, the church was incorporated in the State of Texas.

Pastors Moises and Manuela Sosa led the church through many years, always trusting God and never wavering in their conviction that the only way to eternal life is through Jesus Christ. Inside and outside of the church, Pastors Moises and Manuela were relentless in their desire to share the Gospel to everyone. On April 29, 2018, Pastor Sosa had one last calling from His Savior to go join Him in His Kingdom of Glory. On August 2019, Mrs. Sosa retired as Pastor and assumed the role of counselor.

That same August, on the 29th, Pastors Miguel and Lupita Sosa, following in their parents' footsteps, began their ministry of Salvation in Jesus Christ. They continue preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, steadfast in the doctrine they have received, in the work that God has called them to do. They hold steadfast in the belief that God is in control of everything. God has great plans for their ministry. Come join us — we know the best is yet to come.
